CONSULTANCY SERVICES
In conjunction with a variety of Building Surveys and our specialist Building Pathology and Defect Diagnosis Team we are able to offer advice in respect of any issues which may affect your insurance.
Historically there has been an ongoing problem with uncertainty over the standard of composite insulation panels to industrial buildings, in particular whether the polyurethane or PU core had an adequate fire resistance. Some cladding was manufactured to LPC approval although historically much of the insulated cladding systems had no specific fire rating. We have been involved in various projects where material samples have been taken, laboratory analysis undertaken to establish fire resistance and agreements reached with insurance as to a low fire risk.
We are also often called in to review specific issues affecting occupation of a property, ranging from the standard of fire precautions and means of escape to the suitability of materials in respect of surface spread of flame and the inter-relationship between different demises within a single property.
The requirement for a sprinkler system is often a substantial cost on a large distribution centre or warehouse. By including specialist advice from M & E sub-consultants we are able to provide advice on the most cost-effective way of protected your property interests whilst achieving best value for money.
FLOOD DEFENCES
In conjunction with several projects involving flood reinstatement we have also provided advice in respect of improved flood defence measures. Whilst classified as improvements we have been successful in including these with the Reinstatement Cost from the insurers and also obtaining some Local Authority funding for flood defence improvements.
ASBESTOS
The presence of Asbestos within a damaged building often causes a Health and Safety problem in terms of both the clean-up and how the residual Asbestos is managed.
